In 2004, Bobby Hewitt had a vision. He wanted to support his sons dream to ride. Meanwhile, the amateur racing scene was taking off and becoming very competitive. Factory teams were looking for young talent to nurture and provide a platform that would prepare them for the future. Bobby’s vision was to support a cast of riders that were destined for success and provide them with real life experience. Sparing no expense Bobby hired the right group of people to make this vision of his a reality. Bobby built a platform that revolutionized the sport of Motocross.

Dave Gowland, the Amateur Support Supervisor at Kawasaki Motor Corps Team Green, saw this vision and hopped on board. Supporting the team Bobby had built would enhance the Team Green Amateur program for Kawasaki. It was the partnership that started back in 2004 between Bobby and Dave that has helped the HRH Racing program achieve great success.

In 2007, after three years of Amateur racing, Kawasaki approached Bobby with a new opportunity. Bobby had the opportunity to add a pro team to the racing program. Bobby jumped at the chance to expand an already successful amateur effort to provide another layer of support for riders during a very competitive time in the sport.

From 2009 to 2013, the team became the official Factory Suzuki Lites team with title sponsorship from Rockstar Energy Drink. Most commonly referred to as Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki, the team competed in both AMA 250 & 450 Supercross and AMA 250 & 450 Motocross.

In 2014 The Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki team was approached by KTM North America to become a satellite factory effort through their KTM Factory Services program. Bobby accepts the new manufacture with a bit of a twist. KTM was planning a re-launch of an old brand that helped launch the sport of Motocross in America about 40 years ago, Husqvarna.

The plan was simple but timing would be everything. KTM acquired the licensing rights to Husqvarna Motorcycles. In an already saturated market, KTM was thinking of doing the unthinkable, adding another brand of motorcycle to the marketplace. Bobby and Dave saw the potential in the KTM vision and realized that they wanted to part of something bigger than just racing. To be part of bringing back an iconic brand, like Husqvarna, was not only exciting but also a challenge. The branding, the exposure and the excitement of the machine that carried more champions to victory in the early 1970’s is back!

Bobby and Dave went to work on riders securing top talent. Together with great partners, a solid vision, communication between team and manufacture, the results will be incomparable to any other manufactures in the sport.
